European Refugee Crisis and EU-Turkey relations

In 2016 students from the University of Cologne (Germany), Sciences Po and la Sorbonne Paris (France), Charles Unviersity Prague (Czech Republic) as well as the Turkish-German University, Istanbul (Turkey) spent 5 days in Brussels visiting different EU institutions, NGOs and Think Tanks. These three exciting days were followed by a two-day simulation exercise on the EU-Turkey summit. The students represented different member states of the EU or Turkey with the aim of agreeing on a joint conclusion. After two days of extensive negotiations, the EU-Turkey Summit adopted a joint conclusion. Programme 2016 EU-Turkey Summit Conclusions 2016 Summer School Report

Daniela Tkadlečková, one of our summer school participants from Charles University Prague, wrote a very insightful report on her experiences during the summer school in Brussels. Highly recommended reading! Another article on the Summer School can be found in the EUCOPAS Newsletter from July 2016.
